A man walked into a hall where a jewellery exhibition was being set up yesterday and ran out with a bag containing jewellery worth several thousand euro, a court was told today.

The case happened at the Preluna Hotel in the afternoon.

Stephen Dalli, 48, who was arrested shortly after, pleaded not guilty and was remanded in custody.

The prosecution said that although most of the jewellery had been recovered, some important items were missing.
