The sum of €181,000 collected by RTK radio during an open day at the Dar tal-Providenza on January 1 was this morning presented to the home’s director Fr Martin Micallef by Archbishop Paul Cremona.

The Archbishop said that the campaign, which was organised annually by RTK, linked the Church’s voice and its social commitment.

He described the residents at the Dar tal-Providenza as precious.

Fr Micallef thanked RTK for the campaign and the Maltese for their generous contributions. The home, he said, was a residence to around 100 persons with disabilities who could not continue living in their own homes.

The running of the home required an expense of around €12,000 daily.
