The Vassallo Builders Group and the Environment Landscapes Consortium  have locked horns in court over responsibility for a roundabout at the bottom of the hill leading to Naxxar.

Vassallo Builders submitted a judicial protest asking a court to stop workers from the consortium from working on the roundabout. The group said it was assigned responsibility for the roundabout by the Ministry of Agriculture in 1988 and it had since then maintained and decorated it, and repaired it when necessary.

Environmental Landscapes said in a counter-protest that the 1988 agreement expired in 2002 and the government had assigned it to embellish the roundabout and 14 other locations in Lija and surrounding areas.
