The government is to create a round-table forum with trade union to discuss a range of issues related to workers, Chris Cardona, Minister for the Economy, said at a meeting with GWU officials this morning.

He said the government was committed to job-creation and to the upholding of workers' dignity.

He said the administration would involve stakeholders in all major decisions.

It would draft a charter of workers' rights and work against the exploitation of workers.

Dr Cardona said the government would also appoint a commissioner to simplify administrative procedures and cut down on bureaucracy.
