Employees of the Lands Department this morning emptied rooms built in an illegally closed off section of the Valletta bastions ditch, close to the Yellow Garage.

The operation was conducted under the watchful eye of the police.

The items that were removed ranged from an old set of drums to a pool ladder, chairs and a motorcycle.

The rooms were demolished in the afternoon.

This section of the bastions is set for restoration works in the near future.
