Ronaldinho's agent is confident the Milan playmaker with sign a three-year extension at the San Siro, thanks to help from the club's new sponsors.

Speculation was rife all summer that Ronaldinho was set to depart the Rossoneri, with a return to Brazilian side Flamengo seemingly on the cards.

Earlier this week, the Brazil international committed himself to staying on for at least another season, until the end of his contract, but the club have made no secret of their wish to retain Ronaldinho for longer.

The 30-year-old's agent and brother, Roberto de Assis, is confident of coming to an agreement soon and has revealed they will be aided by Fly Emirates, with Ronaldinho in turn endorsing the brand.

"We are working to find an agreement with Emirates Airlines," he said.

"We are ready to respect the current contract and then we will talk about an extension.

"When we sit down at the table to extend his contract we will sign a deal which expires June 30, 2014.

"There won't be any problems. There's no rush, it's only a formality."

Reports suggest the new contract will see Ronaldinho take a pay cut from the eight million euros per year he currently earns to between five and six million.

Ronaldinho, who arrived at Milan in 2008 from Barcelona, struck 12 goals in 36 Serie A appearances last season.

Emirates agreed a five-year shirt sponsorship deal with Milan worth 60million euros in February which saw the international airline replace Bwin as the Serie A club's main partner from July 1.
