With reference to the comments by Joseph Borg (The Sunday Times, May 23) I had no intention of starting a polemic when I enquired about Roman Law in today's society. I only referred to historical facts.

Nor did I intend to go into details of legalities, long sentences and loopholes, as I am not a lawyer.

My question was simply how would one assess the introduction or explanation of Roman law into an existing social framework without being too radical.

Mr Borg can continue with his own pet ideas without involving me.
