The Grand Harbour is set to be a hive of activity on Saturday when the 33rd edition of the Rolex Middle Sea Race casts of.

A record 90 boats have registered to take part in this year's edition with Malta's Artie looking to retain the prestigious RMSR Trophy following their triumph last year.

Esimit Europa 2 is again set to be the star attraction as the fast maxi, which runs under the patronage of the European Unioin, will be bidding to make a hat-trick of winning line honours for athird successive year.

Apart from Artie, Maltese sailing will be represented by six other syndicates, namely Gasan Mamo Comanche Raider II, Du 4, Fekruna, Oiltanking Juno, Otra Vez, and Elusive, of Arthur Podesta, who is the only man to have finished all previous 32 editions of the Rolex Middle Sea Race.
