Rockestra is being held again this year by the Malta Community Chest Fund.

It is being held on September 15 at the MFCC in Ta Qali at 8 p.m. This is the fourth year that it is being held.

The rock concert, given by the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra, is organised to raise funds for the needy

Rockestra, under the musical direction of Sigmund Mifusd and the artistic direction of Pawlu Borg Bonaci, will include works by groups such as Pink Floyd, Scorpions, Aerosmith, Zucchero, Procol Harum, Adele, Rolling Stones, Bon Jove, Prince, Led Zeppelin and Santana.

Renowned local artists will also perform popular pieces accompanied by the orchestra to the dance choreography of Felix Busuttil of Yada Dancers.

These local artists include Ivan Filletti, Ira Losco, Paul Borg Bonaci of Fakawi, Richard Edwards, Mikaela, Matt of Red Electrick, Glenn Vella, Chris Grech, Paul Sky, Chiara, Claudette Pace and Kenneth Calleja.

Mr Borg Bonaci said:

"By creating visuals and other special effects we are trying to bring the orchestra to the people and bring the people to the orchestra.

"Rockestra brings together the different elements that make us Maltese.

"It shows our love for helping people but also our love of music and culture".

The concert is being held under the patronage of President and Mrs George Abela.
