The Police Officers’ Union has condemned what appears to have been a road rage incident in which an eight-month pregnant policewoman was insulted and her car damaged.

The union released a video on Facebook showing a man, who claimed to be a warden, getting out of a car and walking towards the off-duty policewoman’s car in St Anne’s Street, Floriana on Wednesday evening.

What happened next is out of the picture.

The policewoman claimed he insulted her even after she had shown him her police badge and told him she was pregnant.

He had to be held back by his wife and at one point, as the policewoman was videoing him, he banged on the car and broke the side mirror.

The union called for immediate action to be taken against the man so that this sort of anti-social behaviour on the roads would be curbed.
