Għajn Tuffieħa Bay was a sight to behold at noon on Sunday.

People got out of the beach as instructed by lifeguards who said a lightning storm brewed overhead.

When asked why, one of the life guards said currents during a storm could be considerably strung and could pull people out.

The beach was empty for about 30 minutes before it returned to business as usual.
