Italian band Ricchi e Poveri, especially popular among the older generations, will be coming to Malta for a concert in November.

This is the third time the trio will be performing on the island and the first concert organised by GLG Production Malta, the local wing of an international company.

The band was originally a quartet formed in 1967 by Franco Gatti, Angela Brambati, Angelo Sotgiu and Marina Occhiena.

They became a trio when Ms Occhiena dropped out but is reuniting with the band to record an album.

Ricchi e Poveri participated in the Sanremo Music Festival several times since 1970 and represented Italy in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1978, placing 12th with Questo Amore. Their songs include Mamma Maria, Se M’innamoro and Sara Perche Ti Amo.

Maltese singers Aldo Busuttil and Thea Garrett will be supporting acts in the concert to be held on November 6 at the Hilton Portomaso’s Grand Masters Suite, St Julians.

Ticket prices range from €35 to €65 with €1 from each sale going to the Richmond Foundation, an organisation that works with people with mental health problems.

Tickets can be bought from www.maltaticket.com, from Agenda, Vodafone, Exotique outlets and the Hilton.
