The Assoċjazzjoni Suldati Pensjonanti said today it felt insulted at the lack of communication from the Finance Ministry who failed to acknowledge any of six e-mails it sent.

The association said in a statement that the association wants to meet the minister to discuss various issues concerning members.

“For some unknown reason we did not receive a single reply for our efforts, not even an acknowledgement, for courtesy’s sake.

“We consider this level of thought as an insult to those persons who served this nation and risked their lives whenever they were called for; and most particular to those of our members who have shown faith in this Government by voting for it during the last General Election.”

The association said that a meeting with PL spokesman Joe Debono Grech before the election was very promising, so much so that Mr Debono Grech was invited to address the association’s annual general meeting, which he did.

Following the election, the association said, meetings were also held with the Home Affairs and Social Solidarity ministers.
