A drinking campaign has been stepped-up with the launch of educational spots on four radio stations and three online news portals.

The campaign, run by the Sense Group, seeks to raise awareness on responsible drinking, offering information on its website drinkawaremalta.com.

“The campaign aims to educate through ongoing persuasion based on common sense and by offering practical recommendations,” chief executive officer Joe Farrugia said.

“Experience and history have taught us that, in this sector, draconian measures have never led to curbing abuse but, on the contrary, generated more societal harm,” he continued.

The advertising scheme follows a similar one launched in magazines, websites and radios earlier this summer, targeting drinking during village feasts.
