While praising measures in the budget to encourage more women to enter the employment market, the Church's Employment Commission said that women who opted to be housewives should not be ignored and all women should be respected.

In a statement on the Budget, the Commission also stressed its belief that Sunday should remain a special day and although certain jobs entailed being carried out also on Sunday, not every kind of work was permissible because Sunday was intended as a rest day.

The Commission also spoke on the need to fight precarious employment.
