We support the National Commission Persons with Disability (KNPD) and the Maltese Council of Disabled Persons (MCODP) which expressed concern over the proposal made by the Labour Party to convert part of St Luke's Hospital for people with a disability.

We welcome the explanatory statement made by the MLP's spokesperson for Social Solidarity, Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca, to the effect that the modification will take the form of residential units.

She also mentioned that these small units will be like the other residential houses that we already have in the community. Why does it have to be at St Luke's? Is it impossible to find other locations for these houses?
