A man managed to climb to safety hours after his car ploughed into a valley in St Paul's Bay yesterday, the police said.
The driver, an Englishman living in Malta, suffered serious head injuries, though his condition last night was unknown. The accident took place when the car plunged a height of two storeys into a valley, according to police. The driver was concussed for a number of hours, and once he came back to his senses, he managed to climb back onto the road, the police said.
A passer-by offered the assistance before the police and medics arrived on the scene.
The victim was taken to hospital in an ambulance.
