The Emergency Response and Rescue Corps said today that it provided assistance in 907 cases during lifeguard services at the Blue Lagoon this summer.

The service has now come to an end.

The assistance was given in cases ranging from jellyfish stings to spinal injuries, which required helicopter evacuation to Mater Dei Hospital.

The lifeguarding service was possible due to financial support by the Malta Tourism Authority. Support was also being provided by the Ministry for Gozo, Transport Malta, Police, the Armed Forces of Malta, the Police and the Civil Protection Department.
