The Malta at War Museum was established in 2004 as a combined project with the Vittoriosa local council. It has since obtained the full support of the Malta Tourism Authority and the Bank of Valletta. It is dedicated entirely to the memory of World War II in Malta focusing mostly on the social and civilian dimension of the Homefront. It aims not to compete nor replicate but complement the National War Museum at Fort St Elmo, which represents the war in all its other aspects.

A portion of this museum is open for regular visiting between Tuesdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

A visit to this attraction entails a guided tour, the viewing of the original 1942 Malta G.C. wartime movie and a visit into the extensive labyrinthine maze forming the underlying air raid shelter.
