Two sites at Comino’s Blue Lagoon were rented to the Malta Tourism Authority for the renting of umbrellas and the placement of mobile kiosks for €150 a year.

The sites were rented to the authority by the Government Property Division in 2010, Tourism Minister Edward Zammit Lewis said.

He told Jason Azzopardi (PN) in reply to parliamentary questions that the MTA had used the revenue from 2010 to 2012 for the provision of lifeguard services in Comino.

The mobile kiosks, he said, were licensed by the Department of Trade and not by the MTA.
