Removing the graffiti sprayed on the new Valletta entrance last month will cost €4,000, Times of Malta has learnt.

A spokeswoman for the Infrastructure Ministry yesterday said the works will start on Monday and will take “one or a few days”. Studies have been held on ways to remove it without damaging the stonework.

The black stencil, depicting a girl and a boy arching their arms to form a heart, appeared on the left side of City Gate overlooking the ditch in the early hours on August 29.
