Last Sunday, Gozo marked Remembrance Day with a commemoration at Independence Square, Victoria. Members of the Armed Forces of Malta mounted a Guard of Honour near Christ the King monument. Lydia Hope Ricards read the poem In Flander's Fields by John McRae while soprano Rosabelle Pavia sang. A speech was delivered by Charles Bezzina, while deacon Maximillian Grech read an excerpt from the Scripture followed by prayers. Police trumpeters sounded the Last Post and the Reveille and a minute's silence was observed. Wreaths were laid at the foot of the monument.
