Remax Malta has increased sales and letting volumes by 50 per cent, regional director Kevin Buttigieg told the company's annual general meeting recently. "We are proud that just like the previous year, our sales volumes, office growth and agent count have increased and our targets have not only been met but superseded." Mr Buttigieg attributed this success to all those present for their performances.

Speaking about the current market conditions, Mr Buttigieg said that although the market seems to have gone through a bit of a slowdown, especially before the general elections, "experience has taught us that there are always great opportunities for both buyers and sellers...The Maltese market is different because of its size and culture, however as long as the Maltese continue to believe in home ownership, and the Government does its part by encouraging foreign investment, the Maltese property market will continue to flourish."

A recorded video greeting from the chief operating officer and managing director of Remax Europe, H. Charles Lemire, who was recently in Malta for a regional business development meeting, was shown.

Remax general manager Joseph P. Theuma gave a presentation featuring an in-depth analysis of the yearly figures, and explained that "the exponential growth that Remax witnessed is mainly due to the expansion of the group's network, Remax's successful partnerships and franchises, which in turn have successfully recruited more associates, have contributed to the company's increase in turnover. With eight strategically located offices in Malta and Gozo, a strict induction process and on-going training, we were in a position to reach a wider spectrum of clients."

Mr Theuma also highlighted Remax's successes in 'first-time buyers' market.

Towards the end of the evening, seven high achievers were presented with certificates, whereas the top performers, Peter Barthet Michaela Tabone, and Patrick Spiteri, were awarded plaques for their achievements.
