A 10 per cent reduction in registration tax is being given for used Euro 4 M1 light vehicles seating up to eight people besides the driver, that were imported or brought to Malta before April 9.

To qualify, the vehicles should not have been registered by Transport Malta by that date and/or placed on order prior to the date. They have to be in Malta by June 25.

The discount has been put in place to represent the rates that were in effect before the increase was announced. 

To benefit, individuals should deposit a copy of the registration certificate and notice of arrival for vehicles already in Malta and in case of vehicles on order, a copy of the order and exporter’s invoice at Hall C, Driver and Vehicle Licensing Unit, Floriana between 7.30am and 3pm by June 15.

Vehicles that fall within the scope of this notice that have already been registered, will automatically be issued with a refund by Transport Malta.
