Mita - the Malta Information Technology Agency and Microsoft Malta said today that students who registered for the Student Advantage Scheme can now start the activation process to download and install Office 365.

Those students who registered their interest in the scheme during January and February 2014 can download and install the latest version of Microsoft Office 365 ProPlus for free and be able to use it from anywhere. Office 365 Education includes familiar applications such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access and OneNote.

Those students who successfully signed-up for the scheme can check their academic mailbox which ends with the @ilearn.edu.mt domain and click on the Office 365 Mail tab. In their mailbox, they will find an email from Student Advantage at MITA with information on how to activate, install and start using the free Office 365 software.

The activation process for Mcast students will start in due course.

More students to benefit

Mita and Microsoft said agreement had been reached to extend the Student Advantage Scheme to other sectors. Students who attend state schools, Giovanni Curmi Higher Secondary students and Mcast but did not register for the scheme in the allotted time window will still be able to benefit from the free Office 365. They will be contacted in May with information on how to activate their software.

More information and step-by-step video tutorials on how to activate and install the software as well as how to start using OneDrive are available on www.mita.gov.mt/studentadvantage
