Maltese snooker player Tony Drago suffered an early exit in the Regal Scottish in Aberdeen yesterday when he was defeated by Stephen Hendry 5-3 in the second round of the competition.

Drago made the Scotsman fight hard for his victory. The game was on a 2-2 before the break and then Hendry eased to two consecutive wins but Drago fought back gallantly to 4-3 and was leading in the eighth frame. But Hendry, the greatest snooker player of all time came back to foil the efforts of the Maltese cueist.

Other results: Ebdon bt Parrott 5-3; Gray bt Higgins 5-4; Bond bt Stevens 5-4; King bt Hamilton 5-1.
