Moviment Graffitti is holding its annual Reclaim the World awareness activity this weekend.

The event aims to raise awareness on the negative impact globalisation has on people’s life and this year’s theme, What They Don’t Advertise, tackles the subject of production within a capitalist system.

The activities continue this morning in Republic Street, Valletta, with street theatre and information stands.

At 10.30 a.m. a debate will be held in 60A, Strait Street, Valletta, on how global capital is affecting Malta. The panel will include the General Workers’ Union’s general secretary Tony Zarb, sociologist Angele Deguara and Alternattiva Demokratika chairman Michael Briguglio. The debate will be chaired by Mark Camilleri.

The event ends with Reclaim the Streets, a sort of dinner in front of the law courts where people are invited to bring their food, drinks and musical instrument with the aim of “creating a non-commercial space where persons can be together and share their food and thoughts”.
