In what was a difficult year for the real estate industry in Malta, Re/Max Malta recently announced at its AGM that the company registered an increase in sales and lettings by 12 per cent.

The event, held at the Hilton Malta, marked the sixth year of growth, with the company also winning an international award for per capita increase of size of network by Re/Max International.

Managing director of Re/Max Malta Kevin Buttigieg made an opening address to the 140 associates, managers and staff, followed by a detailed presentation of company’s financial performance by general manager Joseph Theuma.

Last year’s performance showed that Re/Max’s presence in the first-time buyer market was consolidated with over 50 per cent of its sales in that market, whereas the remainder of sales were split between customers downsizing or upsizing together with sales in the high-end market. Re/Max also opened three new offices and registered an increase of its sales force by approximately 30 per cent.

The meeting came to an end with the annual awards ceremony to top performing associates and office. These included top-selling office Re/Max Tigné, Sliema, under the guidance of Mark Micallef and Paul Sammut; top-selling office per capita Re/Max Central, Birkirkara, under the guidance of James Busuttil; top-listing associate for letting Sue Carabott; top-listing associate for sales Nicky Camilleri; top sales associate – number of promises of sale signed Roderick Cucciardi; top letting associate Lorraine Bonnici and top sales associate Mark Schembri.
