An exhibition Raphael Vella: Contemporary Graphics has been inaugurated at Dar Malta in Brussels.

The exhibition was inaugurated in the artist’s presence by Malta’s permanent representative to the EU Richard Cachia Caruana and Pierre Clive Agius, Malta’s ambassador in Belgium, have inaugurated

It consists of 17 drawings and prints by Vella that were produced between 2007 and 2009.

The works on display do not reflect a single concept or subject but were produced in conjunction with other works and installations that the artist has shown in different venues in recent years.

The media used include graphite drawing, dry pigment and lithography.

Raphael Vella is a contemporary Maltese artist working in a variety of media. Collections of his drawings have been exhibited recently at the Modern Art Oxford (UK, the St James Cavalier Centre for Creativity in Valletta in 2008 and at the Domaine Pommery in Reims, France (in 2008-9).

The exhibition, sponsored by Air Malta is open for visitors until September 15 at Dar Malta in Brussels.
