Hibernians regained second spot in the BOV Premier League standings after the Paolites cruised past Hamrun Spartans 5-0 at the Hibs Stadiumto day.

The Paolites were in control right from the outset and took the lead on 22 minutes when from a Jackson Lima corner-kick, Anizoba headed the ball into the path of Edison who had little difficulty to stab the ball past Borg.

Hibs doubled their lead on 40 minutes when Steve Pisani, who had earlier replaced the injured Aaron Xuereb, drifted the ball into the path of the unmarked Anizoba who headed home but the 'goal' was annulled for offside.

The Paola outfit made it 3-0 on 72 minutes when Lee James Agius upended Peter Anizoba inside the area and from the penalty spot Clayton Failla rammed the ball past Borg.

Failla added a fourth goal on 86 minutes when he moved past his marker and curled the ball into roof of the net.

Hibs had time to add a fifth goal in stoppage time when Steve Pisani's piledriver hit the bar from the rebound Marcelo Dias was thwarted by Borg with the ball falling back to Pisani who rammed in an empty net.

Hibs striker Luis Edison was voted as the BOV Player of the match.
