The Czech Republic scored three goals in each half to crush Malta 6-0 in an international friendly at the Kufstein Arena, in Austria today.

It was a poor performance from Pietro Ghedin’s men who could not handle the swift attacking play of the Czechs who boosted their preparations for Euro 2016 with a rampant display.

The Czechs went ahead on 15 minutes when Jaroslav Plasil hit a firm shot from the edge of the area that gave no chance to Henry Bonello.

The Maltese looked rattled and the Czechs doubled their lead six minutes later.
Ladislav Krejci surged into the area before teeing up Marko Skoda who anticipated Andrei Agius to stab the ball home.

Five minutes from the break, Pavel Vrba’s men made it 3-0 when Plasil picked Roman Hubnik who beat Bonello with a fine volley.

The Czechs continued to boss the proceedings but had to wait till the 74th minute to add a fourth goal.

From a corner action, Vladimir Darida picked David Lafata who saw his first header somehow kept out by Bonello but from the rebound the Sparta Prague striker rifled the ball home.

Tomas Necid added a fifth goal nine minutes from time before Patrick Schick made it 6-0 in stoppage time.
