In the seventh of 23 weeks making up the current Honda National league at the Eden SuperBowl, Ramis were the only Division One team to take all eight points from their clash with Maltacom KSSK, hitching themselves up to mid-table in the process.

Leaders Fina First strengthened their position after finishing on the better end of a 6-2 score line against Playzone while Aercomms managed to capitalise on Maltacom's misfortune, moving up to second place despite managing a four-all draw against Globalair Travel.

Ramis had a field day against an out-of-form Maltacom. After going down 732-768 in game one, Maltacom's game deteriorated steadily, to suffer 712-721 and 690-749 losses and hand all eight points to their opponents. Charles Farrugia rolled a 593 for Ramis.

Fina Excel improved to fifth after beating Duwpa 6-2. They bowled the highest team series - 2,446. Excel lost out in game one but hit back in style with a huge 922 in the second game to give them a 75-pin edge as they went into the final game.

The scores settled down and it was Fina Excel who clinched it 761-733, winning the series points with a 103 advantage. Melissa Anastasi showed her Excel team-mates the way with a 645. Kenneth Arpa put together a very good 669 for Duwpa.

Fina First extended their lead at the top to four points. Playzone can thank current national champion Doris Camilleri for their two points, her stunning 265 in the first game being the deciding factor in the girls' 819-785 win.

Camilleri's fantastic form held up, as she went on to bowl games of 218 and 235 to complete a 718 series. Her Playzone team-mates, however, were unable to back her up as Fina Excel won both games (741-820, 746-837) and claimed the series by 136 pins. Steve Cassar played consistently over the 200 mark to take a 666 series for the champions.

It was also 6-2 in the match between strugglers Vodka Cruiser and DAB Beer, with the latter taking away the lion's share of the points and holding onto the overall series with 42 pins more than their opponents.

Aercomms lost game one to Globalair 686-745 before powering up to win 884-761. The tables turned again in the final game which went to Globalair 760-798, but Aercomms had the highest series (2,330-2,304) to give them the draw. Aercomms' Paul Baldacchino shot a 627 series, and Mark Bugeja made a 634 for Globalair who stay fourth.

It was also 4-4 in the contest between Mizzi Organisation and Palatino as the former missed out on victory by just one pin on the series total - 2,092-2,093. Jenny Swift was best for Mizzi Organisation with a 574 series.
