A police investigation and a raid on a Qawra apartment have yielded almost a kilo of cocaine, the police said this afternoon.

A 33-year-old Nigerian was arrested and taken to court today.

The operation started after the police on Saturday found another Nigerian man in possession of three drug capsules.

The police yesterday searched an apartment in St Timothy Street, Qawra, and found 94 capsules with almost a kilo of cocaine.

Magistrate A. Vella launched an inquiry.

The Nigerian man was arraigned this morning and accused of association to traffic drugs. He was remanded in custody.
