Qui-Si-Sana Garden, which is being revamped by the Ministry of Resources, is to be named after former Finance Minister George Bonello du Puis, who died recently.

The garden is being extended and sports equipment and facilities for children are being installed.

The work forms part of a wider project which includes the widening and resurfacing of the promenade.

The garden will be covered in turf and will feature three water fountains with three underground reservoirs.

The promenade is being extended over part of the beach, resting on columns thus providing some shade for those enjoying themselves on the rocks below.

The project will cost some €2m. The promenade will be completed in the coming weeks, while the garden will follow in October.

Resources Minister George Pullicino visited the area this morning and discussed the project with architects and workers.
