Work on the upgrading of the Qui-si-Sana promenade, which started last month, is expected to be completed in June, well in time for the summer, Resources Minister George Pullicino said during a site visit today.

He said the road would be widened for better traffic flow, but parking spaces would be retained. The pavement would be widened and paved. There will be no vehicular access to the beach, but the area would still be fully accessible to wheelchair bound persons.

Part of the widened pavement will slightly overhang the beach, providing shelter.

The project also includes better lighting for the road and the beach and new street furniture and sanitary facilities.
