Writing in l-orizzont (January 6), Alfred Sant, former Labour leader, slammed the commission appointed by the party executive to analyse the March 8 election defeat, arguing that its members, though well-intentioned, lacked the necessary political experience to do their job properly.
Furthermore, Dr Sant claimed that the resulting report missed the wood for the trees, placing great emphasis on trivialities, while overlooking the really important issues that contributed to the Labour Party's surprise defeat.
1. Has Dr Sant received any summons to appear before the party's board of vigilance for publicly slamming the party's commission?
2. Will the chairman of that board summon Dr Sant and ask him to respond? Why should he be an exception?
3. Is Dr Sant back in the fold ready to control and pass judgment on who has "the necessary experience to do the job properly"?
4. Does he not realise that as a politician he has been a failure?
5. Will Joseph Muscat call Dr Sant a "serpent" or "traitor" for such unethical behaviour towards the Partit Laburista?
