Britain's Queen Elizabeth today marked the 60th anniversary of her coronation with a service in Westminster Abbey, along with other royals and VIPs.

Heir to the throne, Prince Charles and second in line to the throne, Prince William, the Duke of Cambridge also attended. Prince William was accompanied by his pregnant wife, Catherine the Duchess of Cambridge, who is due to give birth to the third in line to the British throne in mid July.

It was the first time the couple have attended a public event at the Abbey where they married two years ago.

The Queen's reign began in 1952 when she was 27-years-old when her father died, with the Coronation taking place just over a year later.

Sixty years ago the weather was cold, grey and wet, but today it was a sunny warm day for the celebratory service.
