The maximum winnings for the Quaterno in the weekly Saturday lotto has been raised to €100,000, Maltco lotteries said yesterday.

For a fixed stake of €1, players who guess four of the five numbers drawn will win €100,000 instead of €50,000 times the stake, Maltco said.

Similar to previous enhancement, Maltco explained, winnings on the Quaterno will not be included in the calculation of the maximum prize fund distributed among the other game category of the Saturday lotto, that is, Prima, Ambo, Terno and Terno-Ambo.

The same mechanism for capping on the Quaterno will continue to apply with the exception that the capping will be applied when the value of all prizes won on the Quaterno exceeds the sum of €100,000 in any particular draw. In such an event, the amount of each prize in this category would be reduced proportionately so that the value of all prizes won on the Quaterno will not exceed such an amount.
