QPR left it late to maintain their lead at the top of the Championship as Heidar Helguson’s stoppage-time goal clinched a 2-1 victory over London rivals Crystal Palace yesterday.
Neil Warnock’s side looked to have squandered their chance to win at Selhurst Park when young Palace substitute Kieron Cadogan scored an 89th minute equaliser to cancel out Adel Taarabt’s opener.
But Iceland striker Helguson struck in the closing seconds to give QPR their eighth win from 10 league games and keep the west Londoners six points clear of Cardiff.
