Qormi - 4, Dingli - 0

Two first half goals paved the way for Qormi to ease past Dingli Swallows 4-0 and return to the top of the Premier League standings.

Jesmond Zerafa’s men were in control right from the outset and could have taken the lead after only 13 minutes when Alfred Effiong was floored in the area by Shaun Tellus and the referee immediately pointed to the spot.

The Dingli defender was shown the red card and Joseph Farrugia’s shot was saved by Jeffrey Farrugia.

However, Qormi were not denied on 28 minutes when Massimo Grima’s intelligent flick freed Ryan Deguara who had little difficulty in beating Dingli keeper Farrugia.

Qormi doubled their lead on 35 minutes when Deguara’s cross from the right was not controlled by Effiong, but in came Matthew Bartolo who fired home from routine distance.

Twenty minutes from time, Qormi struck a third goal when Bartolo turned provider when his centre found Giglio who beat Farrugia from close in.

Qormi wrapped up the points in stoppage time when Effiong raced through before turning past Jeffrey Farrugia and firing the ball into an empty net.

Qormi’s Ryan Deguara was voted as BOV Player of the match.
