The ninth edition of Lejl f`Casal Fornaro in Qormi is being held tomorrow from 7pm onwards.

This cultural event is designed to promote Qormi’s long-standing traditions and its folklore but specifically focusing on the town’s bakeries and the Maltese loaf.

A selection of Delicata’s Pjazza Regina IGT Maltese Islands wines will be available to accompany a selection of traditional Maltese hot and cold dishes prepared by Maypole Ltd.

The organising committee has planned several varied cultural, social and entertaining activities for people of all ages, including exhibitions, different stages with live drama, Maltese traditional songs including għana, band marches and performances by established singers.

Tonight, President Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca will inaugurate the 14th edition of the festival, whose main attraction will be a traditional Qormi meal. Entertainment will be provided by musicians from Tikka Banda and the Qormi folklore group Il-Qamħa.

The event is organised by the Kummissjoni Żgħażagħ Bastjaniżi, in collaboration with the Qormi local council, Maypole Bakery Ltd and the Malta Tourism Authority. For more information, visit www.casalfornaro.com or www.facebook.com/Casalfornaroqormi.
