The Puttinu Cares football and volleyball 60-hour marathon attracted hundreds of people to the Marsa sports ground today as they showed their appreciation to the NGO, which has set up apartments in Sutton, London, to help patients who need medical treatment in the UK.
Among the visitors were Prime Minister Joseph Muscat (who donated a Balotelli shirt for auction) and the PN leadership contenders.
The marathon started yesterday morning and €151,847 had been raised by 5 pm. today. The event continues throughout today and tomorrow.
Journalists from various media houses (including The Times of Malta) took part in the football marathon earlier this afternoon.
A varied entertainment programme is being held throughout the day. An auction will also be held tomorrow (see http://puttinucaresauction.com/ )
The official campaign song and video was launched today. It was prepared at Popeye Village and involved the Malta Girl Guides.
