The Puttinu Cares fund-raising football marathon ended this evening, with €387,525 having been raised to fund premises in London for young cancer patients and their families.

The final sum was announced amid celebrations and fireworks at the end of three days of activities centred around the football marathon in which 800 teams took part.

The marathon was held at the Marsa sports grounds and included entertainment and activities for people of all ages.

The political leaders and Archbishop Paul Cremona were among those who visited to lend their support.
