Puttinu Cares, the NGO which helps patients and their relatives who need overseas medical treatment, is holding a three-day fund-raising marathon at the Marsa sports ground.

The activity is based around a football marathon which was kicked off yesterday by President George Abela.

The grounds have been turned into a hive of activity, with entertainment addressed to all visitors, including children's games, other sports events and live music on stage.

Puttinu Cares has just bought a property in Sutton, London, which it plans to demolish to replace by apartments for use by the relatives of hospital patients along with other apartments it has on lease.

The marathon continues all day today and tomorrow. Contributions may also be made by telephone as follows:

51602007 (€10)

51702006 (€15)

51802008 (€25)

SMS 50517380 (€2.33)
