Nationalist MP Jeffrey Pullicino Orlando is being paid €13,000 per year as chairman of the Malta Council for Science and Technology, the Prime Minister said in Parliament. He is also given allowances for the use of a car, fuel, telephone and internet.
The MCST CEO, Dr Nicholas Sammut, has a salary of €32,130 along with a 'market correctivity' of €11,647, an allowance for his car, fuel, telephone, internet , a performance bonus and an expense allowance. Board members receive €1,200 per year.
The information was given in reply to a series of questions on the salaries of board members of government entities.
The Prime Minister said yesterday that the Mepa chairman has a salary of €93,689 and receives almost €28 for every committee meeting he attends. He also receives allowances for a car, fuel, telephone and medical insurance.
Replying to other questions, Dr Gonzi said the chairman of the Broadcasting Authroity is paid €19,708 plus allowances including medical insurance. The board members are paid €10,512 plus and have an allowance for their television service and medical insurance.
The CEO of the Medicines Authority is paid €32,327 plus allowances.
The chairman of the Malta Arts Council is paid €13,976 while the members receive €2,795.
The chairman of Patrimonju Malti is paid €4,076 while the deputy chairman receives €1,630 every quarter.
