St Paul's Bay has been targeted by vandals, who destroyed fittings in the public toilets, sprayed graffiti and stole plants.

The council said that shrubs had been planted less than 24 hours before vandals struck. It called for anyone with information to come forward so that the culprits are caught.

Although the council intends to repair the damage as soon as possible, it said it was such a shame that public money should be wasted on this, rather than being spent on other works to improve the locality.
