Australia has kept the opening race of the 2008 F1 season according to a provisional calendar issued by the FIA today. The US has been excluded and Singapore features for the first time as does Valencia, which will host the European grand prix. As a result the calendar has been extended to 18 races instead of the current 17.
Some of the venues are still awaiting circuit approval.
