A protocol was recently signed between the Malta Qualifications Council on the Malta Qualifications Framework and the Malta Society of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce as the local representative of the London College of Music at Thames Valley University.

The latter is a recognised awarding body offering qualifications accredited by the regulatory authorities in England, Wales and Northern Ireland, namely the Office of the Qualifications and Examinations Regulator.

The protocol formally recognises the theory and practical examinations in music provided by the Thames Valley University London College of Music and the certificates and diplomas awarded thereon. The MQRIC considers these awards as having different level ratings of the Malta Qualifications Framework and of the European Qualifications Framework for Lifelong Learning.

The Thames Valley University London College of Music, through its international examining board, offers graded and diploma examinations in music and in drama and communication. The Malta Society of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce has been the local representative of the LCM since 1925.
