A pair of cart ruts located along the beach of Għadira Bay runs along the coast for a distance of approximately 100 metres, forking into two pairs at its northwestern extent.

Along its midpoint, a second pair shoots off towards the southwest for a short distance. The cart ruts are in a relatively good state of preservation and can be generally easily made out, however, in some areas, they have been heavily eroded and cannot be made out. The cart ruts are considered to have a medium level of historical significance at a local level in that they provide a reading of the original landscape in the area and a high level of research significance at a national level in that they are one of the few examples located on the foreshore thus they provide an important reference type.

MEPA scheduled the cart ruts at Għadira Bay as a Class B national monument as per Government notice 1225 dated December 10, 2010.
