The Qormi Armeria located in Triq il-Kbira is a typical town house containing arches, a central courtyard, entrance hall, piano nobile and typical 17th century stairs. No sources attest to who the original owner of this town house was. Historically the site currently used as a police sub-depot for the surroundings was used as an armoury at the time of the Knights following which it was used as a school for most of the 20th century. A shelter was dug beneath it during the war. The shelter leads towards St George’s parish church and has multiple access points (now blocked up) probably leading to private residences.

The building is architecturally important in view of being a typical town house from the Knights’ period. Furthermore, the building survives with few interventions, most of which are immediately evident. It is still one of the highest properties in the surroundings although it itself is not very visible in view of the fairly narrow road in which it is located.

Mepa scheduled the Qormi Armeria as a Grade 2 national monument as per Government notice 1225 dated December 10, 2010.
